Webinar InformationA landscape installation can vary in complexity, cost, and completion timeline from one project to the next. Whether you are an owner, designer, construction manager, project superintendent, or agency inspector, understanding the complete and accurate installation of the landscape as planned is critical to the success of the project. Beginning with plan review, through material approval, construction observation, and project turnover, this class will review the ideal steps to observing, inspecting, and accepting a landscape installation. Topics covered will include:
- Reviewing and understanding landscape plans, details, and specifications.
- Review and approval of submittals for construction material.
- Assuring the consistency of materials throughout all phases of construction.
- Pre-construction meetings and providing expectations for the project.
- Understanding the need for coordination between trades on site.
- Reviewing site grading, drainage, and hardscape installations.
- Overseeing and inspecting the different phases of irrigation installation.
- Reviewing, accepting, or rejecting selected, delivered, and installed plant material.
- Overseeing and inspecting planting installation.
- Conducting a project turnover inspection and creating a punch-list.
- Determining when to begin maintenance periods following construction.

Greg Zoll is a Licensed Landscape Architect and ISA Certified Arborist with over twenty years of experience in landscape architecture, landscape construction, landscape maintenance management, and water conservation. Greg is a founding partner of the design build company Landscape Dynamics and Urban | Ecosystem | Solutions (UES). The firm continues to pursue an integrated sustainable approach to landscape architecture and construction management. Utilizing tools such as drones and GPS systems, UES implements innovative tools and methods to meet each project's challenges. Greg's understanding of the multiple disciplines and processes involved in complex projects has given him the ability to manage design and construction effectively on projects of varying size such as natural open space projects, large scale land developments, commercial office campuses, public landscapes, community gardens, and parks.
